Ingredients

Equipment Needed

  • Juicer or Slow Juicer
  • Sharp Knife
  • Cutting Board

Instructions

1

Wash the apples. If not organic, peel them, then cut into wedges that fit your juicer's chute.

Tip: Remove the core, as seeds can add a bitter taste to the juice.
2

Feed apples through the juicer, alternating with lemon juice (or stir lemon into the finished juice).

Tip: Lemon juice contains ascorbic acid which prevents enzymatic browning, keeping the juice a nice green-yellow.
3

Taste. If too potent, dilute with water. If too sour, stir in honey.

Tip: Honey dissolves slowly in cold liquid, so stir patiently.
4

Pour into a glass and drink immediately.

Tip: Vitamins in fresh juice degrade rapidly upon exposure to light and oxygen.

Recipe FAQ

Why did the juice turn brown?
Apple flesh oxidizes when exposed to air. Lemon juice slows this down, but it's best consumed immediately.
I don't have a juicer.
Blend with water, then strain through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve.
