- Can I use mineral water?
- In an emergency, yes, but a real spritzer uses 'prickly', high-pressure soda water. Mineral water bubbles are too fine and dissipate quickly.
Rosé Spritzer
The spritzer (fröccs) is a Hungarian invention (by Ányos Jedlik) based on the idea that carbonated soda water highlights wine's acidity and aroma while making it refreshing. Rosé is perfect for this: fruity, light, and low in tannins, so bubbles don't turn it bitter.

Instructions
1
✓
Pour the cold wine into the glass.
Tip: This ratio (2:1 wine to water) is the 'Nagyfröccs' (Large Spritzer). The wine dominates.
2
✓
Spray the soda water in with a strong stream.
Tip: The high pressure mixes the drink, so you don't need to stir (which kills bubbles).
3
✓
Drink immediately while fizzy.
Tip: CO2 solubility is best in cold liquid. If warm, the gas escapes instantly.
